Between approximately 8:05 and 8:30 am on December 3, 2020 a boy was allegedly offered a candy by a male driving a white van. The boy was on his way to school and was in a laneway near the 10400 block of Seacote Road when it took place.

The boy did not engage the male and immediately left the area, heading to school. He reported this incident to school officials who contacted police. This boy did exactly what he should have. He stayed away from the vehicle, got himself to a safe place and reported it, says Corporal Adriana Peralta, We want to remind parents of the importance of talking to your children about strangers. A possible vehicle of interest has been identified from video surveillance in the area.

The vehicle is described as a White Econoline Van, early 2000’s, with windows on all sides.

The driver is described:

  • Male Caucasian;
  • Approximately 20 years old;
  •  Long brown/blonde hair;
  • Pimple on forehead;
  • Scar on left side of face;
  • And wearing a black t-shirt

Richmond RCMP officers continue to conduct patrols in the area as well as canvass for additional video surveillance.

Richmond RCMP Youth Section have conduct of this investigation.
