Nanaimo R-C-M-P say human remains found at a beach on Wednesday have been identified as that of a 35-year-old man reported missing early last month.
Mounties say the remains were found at Neck Point beach.
Several tattoos and other identifying marks allowed police to identify the man as Ryan Pratt, who had been living on a sailboat moored in nearby waters off Hammond Bay Road.
His friends reported him overdue on December 2nd after he was last seen heading toward his boat in a small skiff the previous afternoon.

One man is in custody following a collision that sent two pedestrians to hospital yesterday afternoon. The pedestrians, a 24-year-old man and a 24-year old woman, were transported to hospital with serious injuries. A suspect was arrested in the area shortly after the collision.
