Darpan News Desk, 05 Sep, 2019 06:50 PM

The BC RCMP have notified the Independent Investigations Office of British Columbia (IIO BC) of a motor vehicle incident in Kamloops which resulted in the driver sustaining serious injuries.

At approximately 4:20 p.m. on September 3, 2019, a member of the Kamloops Traffic Services conducting speed enforcement on Westsyde Road, observed a motorcycle travelling towards him in violation of the posted speed limit. The officer activated his lights and siren, turned his patrol car around in an attempt to initiate a traffic stop.

Soon after, the police officer located the motorcycle further down the road at a collision with a pickup truck. The male driver of the motorcycle was transported to hospital, suffering from serious injuries. The individuals in the truck were uninjured.

Please note that all aspects and circumstances of this incident will be the subject of independent investigation and verification by the IIO BC. For more information about the IIO BC and media updates, you can visit their website at www.iiobc.ca .
