Correctional Service Canada says an inmate at Mission Institute has died while in custody.
It says 33-year-old Tyler Damien Van Basten had been serving a nearly four-year sentence that began in January.
The agency says he died at the medium security prison on Friday, but did not include details as to how.
The agency says his next of kin has been notified.
The Canadian Union of Postal Workers has given 72-hour strike notice to Canada Post. The notice is for both the union's urban bargaining unit and its rural and suburban unit.
