International Tourism To B.C. Increasing, With France In Lead

Almost 360,000 more international visitors came to the province in 2015, with the total number approaching five million people.
The ministry is crediting its marketing strategy, along with the province's aboriginal tourism sector and more direct flights to B.C. for the jump in visitors from outside Canada.
It says B.C.'s tourism sector is growing despite fierce global competition for tourists and that the industry generated $14.6 billion in revenue in 2014.
In addition to reporting overall support, a substantial majority of Surrey residents agreed that building the LRT network will bring numerous community benefits, including: improving transportation options for Surrey residents (90% agreed), helping connect communities within Surrey (88%), and helping create good jobs in Surrey through construction and ongoing maintenance (86%).
Kamloops Search and Rescue manager Alan Hobler will only say the donation is a sizable amount that will cover the cost of the rescue and help purchase a lot of much needed equipment.
