Richmond RCMP are investigating a collision involving a cyclist on Steveston Hwy by Railway Ave.

At approximately 10:31 pm on June 26, 2022 Richmond RCMP attended Steveston Hwy and Railway Ave for a collision involving a cyclist.

A white Nissan Rogue was driving Westbound on Steveston Hwy when a cyclist, heading North on Railway Ave, entered the intersection.

The cyclist suffered serious injuries and was transported to a local area hospital. The cyclist remains in hospital.

The driver remained on scene and is cooperating with police.

Neither speed nor impairment are considered factors in this collision.

According to a witness, the light was green for vehicles driving on Steveston Hwy.

Anyone who may have been in the area at the time and witnessed the collision or have dash cam footage, is asked to call Richmond RCMP at 604-278-1212 and quote file number 2022-16833..
