  • Kalsi charged with murder after wife dies in hospital
Baldev Singh Kalsi, former president of Gurudwara Sahib Brookside temple has been charged with attempted murder of his wife Narinder Kalsi who died in hospital Sunday afternoon.
 
The 66-year-old was initially charged with aggravated assault but that was later changed to attempted murder. 
 
After Narinder's death, the charge has now been upgraded to attempted murder. 
 
Meanwhile, the RCMP is also investigating an incident where Kalsi was left with facial injuries after being assaulted at the Pre-Trial Services Centre. Officers told media that the incident does not seem to be linked to the allegations against him.
