Kelowna Subway Restaurant Robbery Suspect Arrested

    A suspect accused of robbing a Subway Restaurant late Saturday night has since been arrested by police.
     
    On July 2, 2016 at 11:30 pm, the Kelowna RCMP responded to a report of an armed robbery that have just occurred at the Subway Restaurant in the 500 block of Harvey Avenue.
     
    Police have determined that the alleged suspect had entered the restaurant, produced a knife and demanded money. The suspect then fled on foot with an undetermined amount of cash.
     
    Moments later officers attended the scene located a man matching the suspect’s physical description near the intersection of Harvey Avenue and Richter Street, says Cst. Jesse O’Donaghey. The man was arrested without incident and the money, believed to be taken from the Subway, was found on his person, adds O’Donaghey.
     
    The suspect, a 39-year-old Kelowna man remained in police custody over the weekend. He is expected to appear in Court this morning, July 4th.
     
    He faces potential charges of robbery and obstruction of a police officer as a result of provide false names to police.
