Latest Targeted Surrey, B.C., Shooting, Kills 32-Year-Old Sechelt Man Khan Michael Bourne

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 25 Apr, 2019 06:05 PM

SURREY, B.C. — Homicide investigators in Metro Vancouver say a 32-year-old Sechelt, B.C., man is the latest victim of a targeted shooting in Surrey.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team says Khan Michael Bourne was attacked on a street in Surrey's Bridgeview neighbourhood.

Police were called Tuesday afternoon to a report of a man lying on the ground and Bourne was rushed to hospital, but could not be saved.

Cpl. Frank Jang says Bourne had a criminal record and his shooting is believed to have been targeted.

A vehicle was seen leaving the area immediately after the attack and Jang says police are now seeking witnesses and video surveillance footage.

A motive for the shooting remains undetermined and Jang says it is too early to tell if it could be linked to gang activity.

"We are asking anyone who knew Khan Michael Bourne to please come forward and help our investigators piece together the circumstances leading up to his death," Jang told reporters in Surrey.

"We need to know who he was meeting with, what he was doing. We really need those who knew him the best to fill in the blanks for us."
