Lawyer Disbarred For Stealing Clients' Money, Misleading BC Law Society

Darpan News Desk Darpan, 28 Nov, 2014 09:21 PM
VANCOUVER — A lawyer has been disbarred for stealing clients' money and misleading or attempting to mislead the Law Society of B.C.

The society says a hearing determined there are 26 proven allegations against Bradley Tak, who also failed to remit taxes he'd collected from clients.

It says Tak, who was called to the bar in 1991, betrayed his clients' trust by wrongly taking their money.

The society says in a written decision that Tak had already been suspended from practice three times since 2010 and has not been a member since January 2011.

The society says Tak did not appear at his hearing in September or send anyone on his behalf.

He has been ordered to pay $10,350 in hearing costs by Jan. 31, and the society says clients may file a claim for compensation with the Lawyers Insurance Fund.
