Local Cab Companies Partner With VPD

  • Local Cab Companies Partner With VPD
The Vancouver Police Department is partnering with local cab companies in a new initiative aimed at preventing and reducing crime.
 
“Taxi Watch” will see approximately 1500 drivers and managers, from Yellow Cab, Blacktop, Checker Cabs, MacLures, and Vancouver Taxi, learn about safely observing and reporting suspicious activity and crime that they may encounter in their day-to-day business.
 
With over 700 taxis on the road city-wide during peak hours, that is a lot of extra eyes and ears on the streets of Vancouver assisting police.
 
Vancouver Police encourage everyone to report suspicious activity or behaviour immediately so officers can quickly respond and investigate. Vancouver’s taxi companies will be doing their part to help make Vancouver Canada’s safest major city.
