Lowest Point in Montreal: Three Men Face Charges For Video Illegally Shot In Montreal's Subway

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 15 Apr, 2016 12:06 PM
  • Lowest Point in Montreal: Three Men Face Charges For Video Illegally Shot In Montreal's Subway
Montreal police say they've arrested three men in connection with a widely shared video illegally filmed in the city's subway system.

It created a stir on social media when it was published online March 26 — just four days after the terrorist attacks in Belgium, which included a Brussels metro station being targeted.

The video shows people in areas restricted to the public, climbing down a manhole into a tunnel while lighting fireworks and filming from the unoccupied cabin of a subway driver.

The trio — 22, 28 and 53 years old — were arrested and questioned Thursday before being released on a promise to appear.

Police spokeswoman Caroline Chevrefils says they are due in court on May 5 on charges of breaking and entering and public mischief. Two of the three also face a charge of possessing tools used for break-ins.

Published on YouTube under "Montreal's Lowest Point," the video was still available as of Friday afternoon and had been viewed more than 142,000 times.
