Ludhiana Cancer Hospital Catches Fire, All 130 Patients Saved

    All the over 130 patients had a narrow escape when a private cancer hospital caught fire on Monday in Punjab's Ludhiana district.
     
    Flames engulfed parts of the Mohan Dai Cancer Hospital in Sherpur area near Ludhiana city, prompting the evacuation of the patients, including children, to safety. 
     
    All patients and staff were safe, authorities said. 
     
    Three patients on life support equipment were moved to another private hospital.
     
    Officials said the fire started from a laboratory in the hospital early in the day.
     
    After the hospital staff failed to control the blaze with fire extinguishers. the fire brigade intervened. Ludhiana is located about 110 km from Chandigarh.
