WINNIPEG — Police have laid a dozen charges against a 24-year-old man in the ramming of police cars in front of Winnipeg headquarters.
 
The charges against Wayne Daniel Rennie include dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, mischief and two counts of assaulting a police officer with a weapon.
 
Police allege Rennie was displeased with a cellphone ticket he'd been given on Monday morning and deliberately drove into the cars with his moving truck before fleeing.
 
They say he swerved into oncoming traffic on a highway outside city limits and drove towards a car with two Winnipeg police officers inside.
 
 
They car had to swerve to avoid a head-on collision.
 
Rennie was arrested near Portage la Prairie, about 80 kilometres west of Winnipeg, and remains in custody.
