At approximately 3:49 pm on October 28, 2021 Richmond RCMP arrested a man in a school park in the 7000 block of Lombard Rd after observing a video where the man was allegedly exposing himself.

According to the complainant, he had seen the unidentified man in the school park on one previous occasion speaking with kids. On October 25, 2021 the complainant allegedly observed the man with his genitals exposed and recorded it.  The complainant reported the incident to school officials on October 27, 2021 who in turn contacted police.

Richmond RCMP Youth Section officers reviewed the video and conducted proactive patrols of the school park on October 28, 2021. During these patrols, the man from the video was located and arrested. 

“We recognize this type of incident is very concerning to parents and the community as a whole so being able to identify and arrest this man so quickly is a good thing,” says Inspector Michael Cohee, officer-in-charge of Operations Support, “We encourage anyone, “if you see something, say something.” Call police as soon as possible so that we can attend and investigate.”

Richmond RCMP Youth Section are investigating this incident and are working with partner agencies in the community. At this time, this appears to be an isolated incident.

The investigation remains active and on-going.
