  • Man charged with arson in Vancouver after three weekend fires

A man has been arrested and charged with arson after three fires were set in a Vancouver neighbourhood over the weekend.

Police say they received a call about a fire on Sunday just after 5 p.m. near the intersection of Victoria Drive and East 1st Avenue.

They say multiple hedges and a fence had been set ablaze, but the property owner was able to put out the fire before it spread.

Officers were then told by firefighters there were two other fires set in the same area.

Police subsequently located a suspect, and he has been charged with three counts of arson.

There are no reports of injuries from the fires.
