  • Man charged with discharging a firearm

A 31-year-old Surrey man has been arrested and charged with discharging a firearm with intent in relation to an incident that occurred during the early morning hours of Wednesay May 20, 2020, in Whalley.

On May 20, 2020, just before 1:00 am, Surrey RCMP received reports of possible gunshots heard in the area of the 10600-block of King George Boulevard. Police also received a report of a man being chased in the same area.

Surrey RCMP Frontline officers responded and their investigation led to a residence in the 10600-block of 137A Street. Four adults were arrested at the residence and later released. Officers also located a person who is believed to be the targeted victim, at another location, and confirmed they were not injured by gunfire.

Shortly before 4:30 pm on May 20, 2020, Surrey RCMP arrested 31-year-old, Julian Page, in the 10600-block of King George Boulevard with the assistance of the Lower Mainland Emergency Response Team.

Julian Page was held in custody overnight and a charge of discharging a firearm with intent was sworn on May 21, 2020. This is believed to be a targeted incident which took place among parties known to each other. There is no ongoing threat to the public as a result of this incident.
