Man charged with possessing child porn after items seized at B.C. home: police

Darpan News Desk Canadian Press, 28 Aug, 2014 11:39 AM
Charges of possessing and distributing child pornography and obstructing justice have been laid against a 39-year-old Abbotsford, B.C., man.

Brian Bell was arrested after police seized several items including computers, phones, cameras, hard drives and storage devices from a home in the Fraser Valley community.

Abbotsford Police say an investigation began in November 2013 into the suspected possession and distribution of images of child sexual abuse.

The search warrant was executed at the residence in June, and Bell was taken into custody on Tuesday.

He has been released under court-ordered conditions that include no contact or communication with anyone under 18 and is prohibited from being anywhere children may be present, including parks, school grounds and recreation centres.

Bell has also been banned from possessing or using any electronic device capable of accessing the Internet.
