Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 13 Nov, 2019 08:13 PM

VANCOUVER - One man has died in an intense fire in a commercial building in east Vancouver.

Crews responded shortly after 9 p.m. Tuesday to find heavy smoke and flames that eventually worked through the roof of the two storey structure.

Vancouver Fire and Rescue assistant chief Trevor Connelly says the man was found on the second floor of the combined warehouse and office building.

Despite the efforts of paramedics and firefighters, Connolly says the man died at the scene.

A cause of the fire remains under investigation. (Global)
