A 64-year-old male pedestrian was treated at the scene and taken to hospital in critical condition and has since died in hospital.

The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and has cooperated with police however the cause of the collision is still under investigation and Burnaby RCMP is seeking assistance from anyone who may have witnessed the collision.

In particular, police wish to speak to the occupants of a white compact pickup truck and a large white commercial delivery-type truck who were observed at the scene of the collision.
