Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 07 Aug, 2022 12:34 AM
  • Man dies after double shooting in Burnaby, B.C.

A man has died in a double shooting on Highway 1 in Burnaby, B.C.

Burnaby RCMP say they were called Saturday afternoon by one of the shooting victims, and officers arrived to find a car pulled over on the westbound side of the highway with both people still inside.

The surviving victim, who was driving, is believed to have a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

Police say they are working to find out when and where the shooting happened, and how far the vehicle travelled before the driver pulled over.

Investigators did not release any suspect information, however they believe the shooting is tied to the Lower Mainland Gang Conflict.

They say a separate vehicle was found on fire in Burnaby and is believed to be connected to the incident.

The rules at the Canada-U.S. border have also allowed trade and essential workers to move between the two countries unfettered.
