The province's homicide investigation team has been called in after a man was fatally shot in Hope.
R-C-M-P say they were called just before 3 a.m. on Sunday and found a 28-year-old man who had been shot and killed.
Police say a suspect has been arrested and investigators don't believe there is an ongoing risk to the public.
They say they have identified the victim and are working to notify his family.
The 10-person Burnaby Urban Search and Rescue team, comprised of mostly first responders from the city's fire department, flew to Turkey with the blessing of the country's government.
