Man From Italy Dies On Air France Flight Before It Lands In Labrador: RCMP

    HAPPY VALLEY-GOOSE BAY, N.L. — Police say a man from Italy died on board an Air France plane before it landed in Labrador after being diverted there after midnight.
     
    RCMP say the flight was headed to France when a passenger became ill and the on-board crew notified airport officials in Happy Valley-Goose Bay about a suspected medical emergency.
     
    Police and paramedics met the plane, but say the man who was travelling with family passed away prior to landing.
     
    He was taken to the Labrador Health Centre.
     
    The cause of death is not yet known and the matter remains under investigation.
     
    The aircraft left Happy Valley-Goose Bay to continue the flight.
