Man Hit By Transit Bus Following Altercation In Burnaby, B.C., Dies In Hospital

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 21 Jun, 2019 05:26 PM

BURNABY, B.C. — The BC Coroners Service says the man hit by a transit bus in Burnaby, B.C., last week has now died.

A spokesman for the coroner says the unnamed man died Thursday at Vancouver General Hospital.

Burnaby RCMP said the 33-year-old man was critically injured shortly after an altercation with a 62-year-old male on June 11.

The altercation happened on the sidewalk along a busy Hastings Street and police say somehow the man entered the street and was critically injured when he was hit by the passing transit bus.

The 62-year-old man was taken into custody but was released without charges.

An investigation is continuing and police said last week that they were still trying to determine if the two men knew each other.
