VANCOUVER — Police in West Vancouver say a charge of second-degree murder has now been laid against a man already accused of interfering with a dead body.

Fifty-four-year-old Li Zhao remains in custody pending his next court appearance on Monday.

Police were called to a house in the tony British Properties last week after receiving reports of a violent confrontation.

They say forensic investigators have now finished their work at the residence.

Police have said Zhao and the deceased person knew each other.
