Man involved in police incident in Langley last month found dead

B-C's police watchdog confirms that a man who was involved in an incident with police in Langley last month has been found dead.
The Independent Investigations Office of B-C says human remains found at the scene of a fire in Langley are those of a man who had barricaded himself inside a building as police were outside on November 10th.
The I-I-O says the search for the man was delayed until investigators could safely enter the fire-damaged building.
The watchdog says it will investigate to determine what role police may have played in the death.
Police in New Westminster say one of the suspects charged in relation to a January 2022 shooting at a city residence has pleaded guilty at his trial. They say Justin Crowchild has been handed a 729-day sentence for discharging a firearm and a six-month sentence for possession of a firearm.
