Man passes away after being hit by a truck in Delta

Delta Police are investigating an incident involving a vehicle, that occurred on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at approximately 3:30 pm,  in the 7000 block of Scott Road.

“Police would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed this incident, or anyone who has dashcam footage and was in the area at this time, says A/Sgt. Leisa Schaefer, spokesperson for Delta Police. There is some indication that the driver of the vehicle may not have been aware that they hit someone". 

Initial reports indicate that a male was struck by what witnesses describe as a large truck.

This incident does not appear to be criminal in nature.

The male unfortunately has passed away as a result of his injuries. Delta Police are currently working on conducting a next of kin notification.

One of the suspects followed the victim to the SkyTrain entrance and pushed him down a flight of stairs. As the victim was laying on the ground, the suspect allegedly kicked the victim before a passersby intervened. The suspect fled the area before police arrived.
