Man Pleads Gilty To Manslaughter In Stabbing Outside Abbotsford Gas Station

    ABBOTSFORD, B.C. — Homicide investigators say a man has pleaded guilty to manslaughter in a fatal stabbing outside an Abbotsford, B.C., gas station last year.
     
    The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team says 30-year-old Thavone Junior Carlson has been sentenced to five years in prison and three years of probation.
     
    Sgt. Stephanie Ashton says Carlson had been charged with second-degree murder in the death of 35-year-old Trevor Johnson.
     
     
    She says Carlson entered the guilty plea for manslaughter in Chilliwack Supreme Court on Friday.
     
    The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team and Abbotsford Police obtained an arrest and charge three days after Johnson's death in February 2015.
     
    Ashton says Johnson died after he was stabbed in a fight over what was determined to be an illegal drug transaction.
