Man's Sudden Death Prompts RCMP Search For Watercraft In Maple Ridge

    MAPLE RIDGE, B.C. — RCMP in Maple Ridge are investigating the early morning death of a man.
     
    Police confirm they were called to the Haney Bypass, about 45 kilometres east of Vancouver, just after 3 a.m.
     
    A critically injured man was found near the banks of the Fraser River.
     
    He was rushed to hospital but could not be saved.
     
    Investigators are releasing few details, but say the victim may have been riding a personal watercraft, although it has not been recovered.
     
    Police say it is too early to tell if the death is suspicious.
