Metro Vancouver Pedestrian Hurt Trying To Calm Injured Horse After Accident

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 25 Jun, 2018 11:57 AM
MAPLE RIDGE, B.C. — A series of events in a Metro Vancouver suburb ended with the death of a horse and injuries to a Good Samaritan.

Ridge Meadows RCMP say it happened June 22 when the horse escaped its paddock in Maple Ridge.

A news release from the detachment says the horse jumped from a driveway into traffic and was hit by a car.

The driver pulled over and immediately called police.

Police say a Good Samaritan tried to comfort the horse that had fallen into a ditch, but the woman ended up pinned underneath the animal and is being treated in hospital for her injuries.

A nearby veterinarian was called to euthanize the horse.
