  • Minister Ravi Kahlon hosts Look West Roundtable in Surrey

B.C's Minister of Jobs and Economic Growth hosted a 'Look West' roundtable in Surrey. Held at the Surrey Civic Hotel, the roundtable focused on the B.C. Government’s Look West strategy and the recent trade mission to India led by Premier David Eby and Minister Kahlon. The discussion was well received and fostered meaningful dialogue between government and the business community.

Associations in attendance included the Surrey Board of Trade, South Surrey & White Rock Chamber of Commerce, South Asian Business Association, Downtown Surrey BIA, Newton BIA, Cloverdale District Chamber of Commerce, Black Business Association of BC, and the India Business Network.

Each association had the opportunity to raise key concerns directly with the Ministers and Parliamentary Secretary, as well as ask questions submitted on behalf of their members.

The Look West strategy, which currently prioritizes 18 major projects, aims to grow high-potential sectors such as artificial intelligence, life sciences, maritime, aerospace, transportation and logistics, and construction innovation, supporting the long-term goal of positioning British Columbia as Canada’s economic engine.
