  • Missing man found dead in Manning Park: police

Vancouver – A 52-year-old man who went missing in Manning Park has been found dead.

“This is a tragic ending, and certainly not the outcome we had hoped for,” says Sergeant Steve Addison, VPD. “Our condolences go out to the family and friends of Andriy Fendrikov, and we’re thankful to everyone who assisted in the search.”

Mr. Fendrikov was reported missing earlier this week when he didn’t return from a hike in Manning Park. Vancouver Police led the investigation because, at the time of his disappearance, the last place he was seen was Vancouver.

Mr. Fendrikov’s body was found today near Snass Mountain.

Starting on Sept. 1, 2021, employers will be required to review each area of a job site when determining if a person must wear safety headgear, such as a hard hat, in that area. Employers will determine, through a risk assessment, what safety precautions could be taken to prevent head injuries and whether a hard hat is necessary.
