16 Jan, 2020 05:35 PM

Heeral Patel, 28, who was last seen on Saturday, January 11, 2020, at 11 p.m., in the Islington Avenue at Steeles Avenue West area is now declared dead. Her body was found in a wooded area in Brampton near Nexus Avenue and Fogal Road.

Police say the suspect in this incident is the deceased ex-husband, Rakeshbhai Patel, a 36 year-old man from Toronto. Investigators are encouraging him to contact a lawyer and arrange to turn himself in.

"On the 13th the individual was located… She had been missing already for a couple of days so if anyone saw anything leading up to that timeline that seemed suspicious or out of character, whether it was vehicle or a something that struck them as odd, that might actually be some piece of information we may be looking for," Const. Danny Marttini‏ said.
