Montreal Doctor Under Investigation Commits Suicide In Hospital: Reports

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 06 Dec, 2016 12:56 PM
Montreal police are saying an employee of the Sainte-Justine children's hospital has committed suicide.

Authorities are not identifying the man but several local media are reporting he is a controversial pediatrician.

Montreal La Presse and Radio-Canada reported in 2013 that several parents had accused him of falsely claiming they had abused their children.

The pediatrician was also reportedly being investigated by Quebec's college of physicians in connection with the parents' complaints.

Police spokesman Raphael Bergeron says officers received a call around 5 a.m. today about a body found at Sainte-Justine.

Neither the hospital nor the college of physicians could be reached for comment.
