Multiple Boats Seized In Surrey Boat Dealership Fraud Investigation

Darpan News Desk, 09 Aug, 2019 06:27 PM

Surrey RCMP is advising the public of an ongoing fraud investigation involving a local boat dealership and appealing to potential victims to come forward.

The investigation involves alleged fraudulent business practices by Breakwater Marine, a boat dealership located in the 16000 block of Fraser Highway.

Surrey RCMP has received multiple complaints regarding the business since June 2019 and officers have been in the information gathering stage since that time.

On August 8, 2019 at approximately 10:00am, Surrey RCMP executed a search warrant at the business. Multiple boats were seized during the course of the warrant. One person has been arrested.

Surrey RCMP’s Economic Crime Unit continues to investigate. Officers believe there may be other victims who have not yet come forward and are urging them to contact police if they have been defrauded monies or property by the alleged business.

Anyone who may have been the victim, and has not already contacted police, is asked to contact the Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502 or, if they wish to remain anonymous, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS or go to www.solvecrime.ca quoting file# 2019-97189.
