Multiple Search Warrants Nets Drugs, Guns, Cash, And Vehicles In Prince George, Richmond, Chilliwack

Darpan News Desk Darpan, 16 Jun, 2016 01:39 PM
  • Multiple Search Warrants Nets Drugs, Guns, Cash, And Vehicles In Prince George, Richmond, Chilliwack
On June 11, 2016, three search warrants were executed in Prince George, Richmond and Chilliwack which resulted in the arrests of four individuals and the seizure of substances believed to be cocaine and heroin, as well as the seizure of cash, firearms, body armour and vehicles.

Police believe these individuals were responsible for supplying cocaine at the kilogram level in Chilliwack and Prince George.

These search warrants, under the Controlled Drug and Substances Act (CDSA) stemmed from an ongoing investigation by the Prince George Federal and Serious Organized Crime Unit (FSOC) into drug trafficking in the Prince George area. During the course of their investigation, police gathered evidence which led them to expand their investigation beyond the Prince George area and into the Lower Mainland.

This 14-month investigation highlights the fact that those associated to the drug trade conduct their business across multiple jurisdictions, says Cpl. Dave Tyreman, North District Media Relations Officer. We are confident that our latest enforcement action, with support from our law enforcement partners in Chilliwack and Richmond, will seriously hinder these individuals' drug trafficking network.

The investigative team will be preparing an extensive report to the Public Prosecution Service of Canada for their review and selection of the appropriate charges to be sworn against the affected persons. Once charges have been sworn, additional details will be released at that time.

All four arrested individuals have since been released from custody.
