  • Museum of Surrey Announces 2025 Fall Exhibits
Museum of Surrey is excited to announce its 2025 Fall exhibits lineup, Our Connection to Hockey (October 16, 2025 – April 26, 2026), The Ones We Met – Inuit Traditional Knowledge and the Franklin Expedition, and Fleet of Memory: Canadian Warships Remembered as Models, both on display until December 21, 2025.

These exhibits promise to offer timely and educational experiences for visitors of all ages.

Feature Gallery: Our Connection to Hockey

Showcasing Surrey’s own athletes and game-changers alongside national icons, this engaging and interactive exhibit explores Canada’s deep-rooted relationship with its national winter sport. This original Museum of Surrey-curated experience celebrates the unifying power of hockey, highlighting its diversity, cultural significance, and impact on local communities. Visitors will also learn about grassroots initiatives, women’s hockey, para hockey, Punjabi broadcasters, and the achievements that shape both local and national hockey culture.

Indigenous Hall: The Ones We Met – Inuit Traditional Knowledge and the Franklin Expedition

Also featured this Fall, the Indigenous Hall will host "The Ones We Met – Inuit Traditional Knowledge and the Franklin Expedition" an exhibition developed by the Canadian Museum of History and the Inuit Heritage Trust. This exhibit explores the role of Inuit oral history in solving that mystery.

Community Treasures: Fleet of Memory: Canadian Warships Remembered as Models

Admire intricately hand-crafted scale models of Canadian Navy warships no longer in existence, brought to life alongside archival photographs, personal memorabilia, and firsthand stories from Surrey resident Yvon Lehoux, who served on two of the ships featured in the display.

“At Museum of Surrey we seek to engage Surrey’s communities and visitors through experiences that are relevant, accessible and creative. This Fall, we are excited to offer these three exhibits that focus on building resilience and well-being in our communities,” said Lynn Saffery, Museum Manager.

Social media has U.S. in its grip and won't let go. The Charlie Kirk killing is a case study
In a microcosm of life today, social media is where Americans have gone to process last week's killing in Utah and is the chief tool his supporters are using to police those they feel aren't offering proper respect. Investigators are probing the time the man accused of killing Kirk, Tyler Robinson, spent in the “dark corners of the internet” — anti-social media, if you will — leading up to when he allegedly pulled the trigger.
