A Nanaimo man has been taken to hospital after being stabbed with syringes in the bathroom of a local park.

Mounties say the 58-year-old man is a City of Nanaimo employee and suffered injuries to his face and abdomen in the attack at about 10 a-m yesterday.

Police say the victim is able to give a detailed description of two assailants, both Caucasian males with one sustaining facial injuries during the attack.

Residents are warned to not approach the suspects and to report them to police immediately.
