British Columbia is getting a new phone area code next year.
The 2-5-7 area code will be introduced gradually starting May 24th.
It follows a decision by the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission aimed at meeting the growing demand for new phone numbers.

A 25-year-old man has been charged with dangerous driving causing death after an unoccupied cargo truck hit and killed a pedestrian in Surrey, B.C. A free and confidential legal service is now being offered to people who have been sexually assaulted in British Columbia. The not-for-profit Community Legal Assistance Society officially launched the program Tuesday, which offers three hours of legal advice to people regardless of age, gender or income, or whether they have reported the assault to police.
