New Brunswick Raising Minimum Wage To $10.30

The Canadian Press , 14 Nov, 2014 10:52 AM
FREDERICTON - The minimum wage in New Brunswick will rise to $10.30 per hour from $10 as of Dec. 31.

The 30-cent increase was an election campaign promise by the Liberals.

Premier Brian Gallant says there are nearly 28,000 New Brunswickers who earn the minimum wage.

Currently, New Brunswick is tied with the Northwest Territories for the lowest minimum wage in Canada.

Gallant has promised to raise the minimum wage to $11 per hour by 2017, and thereafter by the rate of inflation.
