Darpan News Desk New Westminster School District, 16 Apr, 2021 08:36 PM
  • New Westminster school district board chair Gurveen Dhaliwal target of threat message

The New Westminster school district is condemning the threats that were sent to the Chair of our Board of Education, Gurveen Dhaliwal. This resulted following a motion that was passed during this week’s Education Policy and Planning Committee meeting. Dhaliwal shared her message via a Twitter Post.

At New Westminster Schools we welcome healthy debate and discussion on the important issues that affect our students, schools and community. It’s how we engage, grow and learn. The district also shared its message on the school being a safe place and that such comments are not welcome.

Gender and race-based threats and violence have no place in our schools or our community.
