Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 16 Nov, 2015 11:55 AM
ST. JOHN'S, N.L. — The Progressive Conservative party of Newfoundland has lost a candidate.

Donald Slaney, Tory candidate for Burin-Grand Bank, in Southeast Newfoundland has withdrawn from the race because of torn ligaments in his foot.

Slaney says in a Facebook post dated Saturday that the injury leaves him unable to give a 100 per cent effort to the campaign, so he has decided to withdraw.

The election is set for November 30.
