Nova Scotia Has Agreement In Principle To Sell Exhibition Park For $2.5 Million

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 06 Nov, 2015 11:23 AM
HALIFAX — The Nova Scotia government has reached a deal to sell Exhibition Park in Halifax.

The province says the agreement in principle with Banc Properties is worth $2.5 million.

Transportation Minister Geoff MacLellan says the deal stipulates the facility will continue to be operated with the Exposition Managers Society of Nova Scotia.

He says the province consulted with the society before deciding on proposals submitted for the property, which includes 45 hectares of land and the Exhibition Park building.

MacLellan says the new owner will assume the costs of renovations and repairs, which are estimated to be about $3 million.

The park is a four-building complex that can be used for trade shows, dinners, weddings and exhibitions.
