Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 25 Dec, 2024 11:29 AM
  • One and cat dead in house fire

A person who was rescued from a house fire in Winnipeg last night has died.

The city's fire service says crews were called to a two-and-a-half storey duplex in the 1400 block of Selkirk Avenue at around 11 p.m.

Some residents who were able to leave the home on their own told crews that one person may still be inside.

The individual was later located and taken to hospital where they died.

The city says another resident was also taken to hospital in unstable condition and one cat was found dead.

The fire is under investigation and there are no damage estimates at this time.
