One dead in shooting at Chilliwack, B.C. home

CHILLIWACK, B.C. - A shooting at a home in Chilliwack, B.C. has left one person dead.

RCMP were called to a residence on Windsor St. near Yale Rd. just before 6 p.m. Tuesday for reports of gunshots.

When officers arrived, they found an unresponsive man with gunshot wounds, who later died in hospital.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has been deployed, and is working with Chilliwack RCMP.

Police say at this stage of the investigation, the shooting appears to be a targeted incident and they do not believe the public is at risk.

Investigators are working to determine whether this death has any links to the Lower Mainland gang conflict.

Surrey RCMP is asking for the public’s help in locating missing woman, Traci Johal.

Traci Johal is described as a South Asian woman, 5’6”, 125 lbs., with shoulder-length dyed dark blonde hair. She was last seen wearing a white blouse, black or grey leggings, a black sweater and black running shoes. Her family and police are concerned about her well-being.

Two bodies found in home in Chilliwack, B.C.

A statement from RCMP in the Fraser Valley city says police were called to the home in a rural area of Chilliwack on Tuesday afternoon. Officers determined the deaths appeared suspicious and the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team is now leading the case.
