White Rock fire officials say one person is dead after a blaze broke out in an apartment unit.
Firefighters were called to the building over the weekend and contained the blaze to one apartment, but there was water and smoke damage in other areas.
Officials say the victim was in the apartment where the fire originated and it is not considered suspicious.
The identity of the victim has not been released.
Prof. Sarah Beaulieu of the University of the Fraser Valley says the search has covered less than a hectare and there is another 65 hectares to search. Beaulieu says the investigation also has evidence from those who were as young as six at the time being woken in the night to dig graves.
