White Rock fire officials say one person is dead after a blaze broke out in an apartment unit.
Firefighters were called to the building over the weekend and contained the blaze to one apartment, but there was water and smoke damage in other areas.
Officials say the victim was in the apartment where the fire originated and it is not considered suspicious.
The identity of the victim has not been released.
Officers were responding to a call of a man with a gun at around 11:15 p.m. on June 4. While driving, they collided with a transit bus near East 41st Avenue and Dumfries Street. Both officers were extracted from their vehicle by firefighters and paramedics and taken to hospital.
Investigators believe the suspect’s vehicle, a silver SUV with a sun roof, drove east on Kent Avenue after the shots were heard. Police are looking for the three people who were seen inside that vehicle.
One man has been taken to hopsital due to injuries. According to the Mounties, the victim is known to police.
This complex investigation has resulted in the arrests of several people, the execution of numerous search warrants, and the seizure of illegal and potentially deadly drugs, as well as firearms, cash and vehicles.
The 7 day rolling average is now 210 new cases per day. The lowest it has been in the province since October 22.
Trudeau said Friday that as a Catholic he is deeply disappointed by the position that the church has taken and he's urging it to release records on the schools.
