One Killed In A Crash Between Dump Truck And Vehicle In Delta

The Canadian Press, 06 Jul, 2016 11:23 AM
DELTA, B.C. — One person has been killed in a crash involving a dump truck in Delta, B.C.

Police have confirmed the fatality but have released few other details of the collision, which appears to involve at least two other vehicles.

One of the vehicles may have been trapped underneath the dump truck and its pup-trailer when the big rig tipped on its side into a ditch beside Ladner Trunk Rd., near the junction with Highway 99.

Rescuers were using large jacks to try to prop up the dump truck to search underneath.

Police say Ladner Trunk Rd. will be closed between 96th St. and 104th St. until further notice.

The closure has caused further traffic delays in south Delta because Highway 17 near Burns Bog remains closed after a wildfire sparked in the bog on Sunday. (Global)
