One-metre-long Alligator Found In Montreal Laneway

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 22 Aug, 2015 12:58 PM
MONTREAL — For a brief period, this reptile was more of an alleygator.

The six-year-old male alligator, who goes by the name Ali, was found in a Montreal laneway overnight after escaping from a residence nearby.

Its owner says he is a wild animal but is fairly docile.

Emilie Gaudry runs a company that puts on educational shows for kids that involve reptiles.

Gaudry says an employee who took part in a presentation on Tuesday returned the alligator but did not close the case properly.

That's when he slithered off to the alley where he was found by local residents.

Gaudry says she has all the necessary permits to own such animals and that this was the first incident of its kind since the company was founded in 2008.
