Ontario Boy suffering from malnutrition after being held indoors for 2 years

Darpan News Desk Darpan, 30 May, 2014 11:18 AM
A 10-year-old boy in London, Ontario, who had been confined by his guardians in a squalid bedroom for up to two years, was recently rescued by police authorities.

The boy was discovered to be underweight and suffering from malnutrition and was immediately rushed to the hospital. He is now in the care of the Children's Aid Society of London and Middlesex.

Guardians are now in custody and have been charged with forcible confinement and failing to provide the necessaries of life to the boy.

Police told media that the boy had access to a toilet and shower but had not been outside in 18 months to two years.

London police informed media that they were asked to go to the house by the Children's Aid Society, which wanted to verify the welfare of the child after receiving a tip from an individual.

"The child was found locked in a bedroom, living in filthy conditions," said a statement released by the police.

Furthermore, it is being reported that the couple had a biological child but was not locked up.
